Zero-Telemetry Architecture
Privacy Policy for Clickly
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Local-First Architecture Statement
Clickly operates under a strict local-only architecture. All screen recording, audio processing, webcam compositing, and video encoding occur directly inside your browser on your device using hardware WebCodecs and IndexedDB. Zero bytes of your video, audio, keystrokes, or personal data are ever transmitted to our servers or any third-party services.
1. Data Collection & Processing
Clickly processes media strictly on-demand during active user-initiated recordings:
- Video & Screen Capture: Captured only while an active recording session is initiated by you.
- Audio Input: Microphone and tab audio streams are denoised locally using WebAssembly RNNoise and mixed directly on your device.
- Webcam Video: Picture-in-picture video is composited locally onto the video canvas.
- Pointer Coordinates & Keystrokes: Mouse positions are tracked only during recordings to compute smooth vector cursor trajectories and focal zoom coordinates.
- Automatic Redaction: Clickly automatically redacts sensitive text in password fields, credit card inputs, and authentication codes.
2. Data Storage & Transmission
- 100% Local Storage: All project files, audio takes, and video fragments reside in your browser's IndexedDB database.
- Zero Remote Transmission: Clickly does not own or operate cloud video processing servers.
- Offline Operation: Clickly functions completely offline without internet access or account creation.
3. No Monetization of Personal Data
Clickly is 100% free and open-source software. We do not sell, rent, or trade user data, display advertisements, or inject tracking pixels.
